Not All Test Preps Are Created Equal
Did you know that it’s harder to become an Westwood Prep instructor than it is to get accepted into an Ivy League school? We search high and low, and go through hundreds of applicants to fill a single position.
We believe test prep should be real education that prepares you not just for the test, but for the challenges you’ll face as you earn your graduate degree and advance your career
The Westwood Prep Rock Stars
More Than Great Test-Takers
When we hire instructors, we’re not only looking for candidates who scored high test scores themselves, although many of our tutors have (multiple times). We’re also seeking out individuals who have demonstrated a sincere interest in educating themselves and others throughout a variety of professions and unique life paths.

Engaging and Inspiring
Every Westwood Prep tutor has demonstrated mastery of the official exam. That’s a given, but it’s also just the beginning. We go to great lengths to match you with a tutor who perfectly suits your learning style and will work with your busy schedule. We guarantee you will love your tutor.
Our private tutors know that a student’s tutoring experience must be fun, interactive and engaging. The innovative methods we use to help students with their test preparation are results-based, and are customized around a student’s greatest needs. We use current events or real-life examples to help illustrate challenging material. Believe it or not, your dating life can really help you understand conditional relationships
We Are Psychic!
Our Instructors are so good at identifying students’ weaknesses and understanding their learning style that they are thought to be psychic. They have the ability to explain advanced strategies in a way that was easy for students to understand. They will help you reach your highest score potential, and you will leave confident and prepared.

"The Conqueror of All Tests"
Han Lee
Curious as to how Han Lee was dubbed the “Conqueror of All Tests” at Westwood Prep? Read on.
Raised in a business-minded family, Han Lee had to spend his entire childhood in Singapore and adolescence and adulthood in Melbourne, Australia. Possessing international background, Han has fully adopted the mindset and culture of a foreigner. He is so proficient in English and brilliant in Mathematics that he was compelled to take the helm of the Westwood Prep academic team in 2014.
Han attained his Bachelor of Accounting and MBA in Monash University, Caulfield. He came to Indonesia to pursue his dream as a business writer in the renowned English newspaper, Jakarta Globe in 2010.
In 2011, he came across Westwood Prep and managed to pass its stringent recruitment tests after several tries. However, it was more than a year later that he was officially recruited at Westwood Prep. Having shared the same passion and vision, Han has been aiding in our venture to lead by example and revolutionize the English language teaching methodology in Indonesia since 2012.
As mandated at Westwood Prep, Mr Han successfully joined the ranks of those in the 99th percentile for GMAT, GRE, SAT, and ACT and positioned himself as “worthy” among the elite members of Westwood Prep test prep squad. Han obtained 770 for GMAT, 169 for GRE, 1570 for SAT and 36 for ACT. His less notable and insignificant achievements also include a bandscore 9.0 for IELTS and 118/120 for TOEFL iBT.
Creative writing has always been Han’s specialty and forte. Descriptive phrases could seem flat and expositions aren’t handled smoothly. Han is endowed with the rare aptitude to literally transform a mediocre piece of writing into a dazzling one. He is known to write with grace and the highest level of articulation; his articles display brevity and immunity from superfluous details. For this reason, he remains the most popular instructor for ‘Advanced Writing’ classes.

Prepare
They spend 70 hours watching presentations, participating in stand-up comedies, and displaying their abilities by “lecturing” us on various topics . In the end, it’s whether or not they can make us laugh while teaching test prep’s core concepts that distinguishes the good instructors from the best instructors.
Analyze
After they’re hired, our instructors undergo 118 more hours of extensive training — including 76 hours of lesson prep and 40 hours of personal mentoring by another veteran instructor. But it doesn’t stop there! All new instructors undergo 6 hours of evaluation and feedback to ensure they’re teaching the class up to our sky-high standards.
Design
Sure, our training process is rigorous and borderline excessive. But that’s what it takes to have the best instructors in the biz — and having the the best instructors in the biz is what it takes to have our amazing average practice exam score increase: 11 points.
Launch
Finally, we pay the instructors as much as triple the standard pay in the industry. So if any other company has a great teacher, we just hire them away.
